“. . . it ever rises from its ashes to renewed life and glory.”
– Chief Rabbi J.H. Hertz speaking about Jerusalem in 1917 after it was captured by British forces.
The world will not be complete until the day all Israel is back in the land and Jerusalem is enlarged and adorned with glory. There is also another return needed, a return amongst Yeshua-followers in Israel to the covenantal life of Torah. That is why MJTI is in Jerusalem, in anticipation of things to come.
In June, the Hashivenu Israel forum convened in Jerusalem, with about sixty like-minded leaders discussing such a return. MJTI is promoting return to land and Torah in the city Yeshua wept over and promised to return to someday.
Haim Ben-Haim, MJTI’s Israel Operations Director, saw a “mixture of young and old, olim (immigrants) and tzabarim (native-born), obser- vant and not as observant” at the forum. “I see it growing and pulling and pushing a movement towards greater participation in Jewish life.”
MJTI’s center sits on a street with large hotels and banks and shops. The seemingly small center looms larger than comparative real estate might show. This center for Messiah is giant in ways not yet seen by the casual tourist strolling near the Old City or busy bank patrons rushing to deposit a check. It is to this city that Yeshua said we would not see him again until we welcomed him as one sent from God (Matthew 23:39). At MJTI’s Jerusalem Center, the movement from within Israel to welcome Messiah is strengthened.
